Strategy = Learning the Language of Business

I describe my Strategic Communication Management class at Columbia University SPS MS in Strategic Communication as “learning another language.” Talented communication students deepen their business fluency and learn to align their ideas and creativity to business and reputation goals and challenges, ensuring that every proposed initiative and objective clearly demonstrates value in a way that key stakeholders can understand. They also learn to understand #business goals, break down silos, interpret financials and create strategic plans to help the company and its people thrive. My students applied this learning to their final presentations on Instacart, Toys"R"Us, Kay Jewelers, Etsy, Marriott International and Airbnb – and SLAYED it. A great way to end the semester!
